Runnion Equipment Company
Chicago Crane Sales Headquarters
6201 East Avenue, Hodgkins, IL 60525
This is the new location of Runnion Equipment Company as founded by Earle Runnion and is the heart of Runnion Equipment Company.
This location serves as the Corporate and Administrative headquarters where all purchasing, payment, policy and procedures originate. Hodgkins, Illinois is located just minutes Southwest of Chicago central to several major interstates and expressways. Here also is the primary staging, storage and showplace area for the Runnion rental fleet and available inventory as well as the companywide Service and Parts Department. All major Service, Rental and Product Support decisions for all crane and equipment lines are handled here as well.
Our core business is the Boom-Truck. The Boom-Truck line sold and serviced out of the Chicago area location includes our flagship line of National Crane manufactured by Manitowoc in Shady Grove Pennsylvania, Tadano Boom Trucks headquartered in Houston, Texas manufactured in Japan, Palfinger Knuckle-boom Cranes headquartered in Austria and manufactured there and in Canada and Manitex Boom Truck and Sky Crane products manufactured in Georgetown, Texas. Although commonly mounted on a truck chassis, hence the term “boom-truck”, most of our telescoping and articulated cranes can be mounted on a variety of contrivances in a variety of configurations, for example; pedestal mounted, dock mounted, barge mounted, roller-base and trailer mounted. In addition, the Chicago location also sells and services Arm-Lift and Lift-All telescoping and articulated man lift and bucket-truck products.
The Chicago office sells and services Trail-King Trailers. If you need to tow an equipment trailer, we can install a pintle hitch on your boom truck. From tag or tilt-trailers and sliding-axle to folding gooseneck, multi-deck trailers, Trail King and Runnion can meet your equipment hauling need.
The Chicago area Parts Department stocks a full complement of replacement parts for all lines of equipment that we sell. Commonly used items and parts such as wear-pads, cable, sheaves, hoses, fittings, brackets and bolts are readily available. Pumps, cylinders, boom sections and other special order parts are usually available within 24 hours through our Internet parts ordering system partnered through our manufacturers. Runnion Equipment Company’s Parts Department has achieved status as an “Elite” dealer through a rigorous program monitored by Manitowoc. Our Parts Department personnel attend manufacturer sponsored training classes and are familiarized with the equipment we sell. We stock used parts based on availability as well as aftermarket and generic non-critical parts but we always try to fix first before we replace in order to save you money. Our Parts Department also stocks a range of crane attachments such as Kinshoffer pallet forks, custom made tear-off boxes and roof top hoppers, or one and two man baskets in order to add versatility to your crane.
The Chicago facility Service Department is the nerve center of Runnion Equipment Company. We service what we sell. Our union mechanics are continually factory trained and many have served their apprenticeship with Runnion as well. Our Service Department has earned the reputation of being a source of information to our manufacturers who do not hesitate to contact us for practical advice on the operation, repair and functionality of equipment in the field. We provide our customers with one of the most thorough OSHA inspection reports for their equipment in the country. Our OSHA inspection and written estimate of suggested repairs provides the crane owner with peace of mind. Our OSHA sticker affixed to your crane guarantees a safe crane operating as per factory specifications. The Service Department can handle quick “drive-by” repairs to get you back on the job while you wait, and our Mobile Service Unit is available when job site breakdowns occur. Manufacturer warranty work is authorized through this office as well. We act as your advocate to get you on the road and on the job. We also operate a fully functioning mounting facility at this location to mount your crane on your choice of truck or trailer. From the basic PM to major boom teardowns or cylinder rebuilding, we guarantee our work.
